Um... it's been a while...
So, I keep realizing that I forget to get on here and write my daily thing. Truth is, I have been so incredibly busy that I actually forgot all about this. So today is September the 3rd. Wow it has been 6 days since I last wrote? That is a long time. Almost a week. So, major events that happened... I have written 6 papers in the time that I have not written. That is basically a paper a day, except I wrote 3 in one day. I have had 3 quizzes. I got a 90 on a practice quiz for bio, and then I got a 75 on a bio quiz and then a 90 on a bio quiz. I had a quiz for lab. Yes, for lab. Who would have thought you would have quizzes and exams in lab? I never did. I made a 100 on that one. So, that is what has been going on academically. I have met new people, and since then things have been going better. I am a little bit happier to be here. I have a ghetto name. We actually all do. Mine is Jawntavius Jarrell Jackson. Haha. There are fruit flies in this room like crazy. We don't even have any fruit. They are all in the building. Someone has a breeding ground for them and it's not us. They are getting on my nerves really bad though. My first lab was interesting. We were testing the reaction rate of the breakdown of starch with the use of the amylase enzyme. We had to run a time course and that was pretty interesting. The lab was on Tuesday. Today, I had finished all of my homework, and so I went to the grocery store with my RA. After that, I was supposed to go out and eat with some people but the plans fell through as usual. So instead of eating, we decided to go out to Wolfchase Galleria and go to the Target across the street. Well on the way there I got pulled over by a police officer. The speed limit was 55. The road is basically interstate. Sam Cooper/I-40. People do not go 55 there at all. The average traffic speed is about 60-65 easy. Well I am going with the traffic at about 60. This policeman begins to tailgate me, his lights are not on. Suddenly he turns them on and I try and get over because I think I am in his way. He was tailgating me really bad. He follows me over across 3 lanes of traffic. I come to a standstill on the side of the bustling highway. I cannot believe that I am being pulled over for something as silly as this. I have my friends with me and I am freaking out. He comes to the window. "Do you know what the speed limit is?" Uh, duh, its 55. "55." "And how fast were you going?" Um the same speed as everyone else because if I don't I'm gonna get smashed. "60." "Can I have your license please." Oh my god you have got to be kidding me.. I hand him the license. "Is there any reason you didn't stop?" What the hell are you talking about? I didn't even see you or your lights until your were up my butt and forced me to get over. "I never saw your lights, and when you turned them on, I thought it was an indication that you needed to get through." .........pause......... "Ok, well I am going to write you a courtesy ticket. I will be right back." What is a courtesy ticket? What on earth? This is the dumbest situation on the face of the planet!! ..He comes back. I ask, "Um, so what is the general rule of thumb here? I am not from this area, and back at home they allow you five miles to play with." -"The speed limit is 55. Why would we give you five miles if it is 55?" What?? "Okay thank you." -He hands me the paper and says, "Have a nice day.." Yeah, it just got a whole lot brighter...cough..jerk..cough.. I was irate at this point but happy that I did not have to go to court or pay for this ticket. It was merely a warning. But, it did sour my mood because of the stupidity of the situation. I always get in trouble based on circumstantial evidence. So, we didn't go eat, but we did go to Target and I spent 90$ on Supernatural Season 4, Heroes Season 3, and Titanic on DVD. That made me feel a bit better but not too much. So, I came back to my room, missed dinner, so I made a pot pie, and then ate a brownie and made some hot tea. Now I am about to go share this story with the rest of my friends here.
