Day 3

Ok, so yesterday, I went to St. Jude. It was really nice. I didn't take pictures though. Sorry! We went to the Target House first. Target House is a place for families to stay if they have someone who is receiving treatments for more than three months. It is a beautiful place and is filled with many gifts from celebrities. For example, I saw Amy Grant's Grammy that she received, and The Jonas Brothers had a memorabilia of their concerts with their t-shirts and guitars in it (Not that I found it exciting or anything). Sean White designed a living area which was just stunning. He also had photos and such of himself. My favorite was a wall which contained pictures of Elephants that many many celebrities had drawn or colored. The elephant is symbolic to family, long life, strength, and playfulness. I saw elephants created by Bill Cosby, Britney Spears, Matt Lauer, Oprah, The Jonas Brothers, and many many more but I cannot think of their names. Basically everyone. But anyway, after that we actually went to St. Jude and toured the facilities. We learned about the founder Danny Thomas and I was able to see his real Nobel Prize and his 3 Emmy Awards. The hospital was fantastic in the way that everything is designed for children. Even the reception desks are placed low so they do not have to try and peek over when talking to the nurses or doctors. It did get a little boring however when we went to some of the more empty places such as the labs. I would have really liked to go through some of the areas but we did not. I learned a lot though. After St. Jude we went to this place called Westy's which is apparently famous for their Chocolate Fudge Pie. I have to say, it was really good. But I wish they wouldn't have put so much ice cream on it. Then we came back to the campus and I ate dinner at an ALANA association meeting. It was a dinner for cultural minorities. I enjoyed it. Then we had PA meetings and stuff and had a welcome video that was pretty funny and then after that nothing. So I walked in late to the hypnotist show. After the hypnotist show I came back and went to bed. And that was the end of that day. Now I am going to post again about today since I am behind!
